Hi! My name is Michael Garcia, and I’m originally from Los Angeles. When I was in high school, I participated in a college access program called College Match, which opened my eyes to opportunities beyond California and shaped my path into college counseling. I went on to study Physics and Latin American & Latinx Studies at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. After graduating, I joined Vassar’s Office of Admission, inspired by my own college counselor and wanting to play a similar role for students navigating the college process. I later continued my admissions work at Colorado College, where I also developed a love for the outdoors and an adventurous spirit. More recently, I transitioned to the high school side of college counseling at The Bay School in San Francisco, where I’ve embraced a mindful, student-centered approach to supporting students through their college journeys. I am excited to be joining (HS)2 this summer!
