Emma Cooley

Silversmithing Instructor

BS, Biology, Fort Lewis College

Emma was born and raised on the western slope of Colorado, where she grew up rafting on the Colorado River, climbing in desert canyons, and exploring the natural world through a creative lens. She attended CRMS from 2014-2016, where she originally learned to silversmith. She loved the craft so much, she continued to pursue it independently. She later attended Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado and received a B.S. of Biology with a minor in Studio Arts. While in undergraduate, she concentrated in botany, and now loves to connect the two worlds of science and art. She believes making art and working with your hands can open doors and bring meaning to your life. She is passionate about showing up in the outdoor community in a way that is inclusive, kind, and empathetic. She hopes to both share her knowledge with students, while also learning from the unique experiences every person has to offer.
