Joy Wood

2nd Year STEM Teacher

Appointed 2021

Joy Wood is a computer science educator passionate about equity and innovation. For the past four years, Joy has been living and teaching in Colorado. She began her teaching journey in Denver, establishing a Computer Science program at DSST College View before joining the founding team at the CUBE School – focusing on project-based and experiential learning. In addition to classroom teaching, Joy has done curriculum development and testing for iD Tech Camps and Juni Learning – pioneers in coding instruction outside the classroom. Summer programs are her absolute favorite; she was inspired to pursue a career in teaching after starting STEAM Girls – a summer coding camp for girls in Middlebury, VT. When she’s not getting people excited about code, she can be found in the mountains, teaching snowboarding at Beaver Creek, chasing her dog, playing nerdy board games, or climbing with friends.
