Megan McOsker is passionate about empowering students with an education that actively dismantles perceived limitations and connects them to the natural world. For the past three years, Megan has been working at Maine Coast Semester at Chewonki, teaching natural history and ecology to students from across the country. Previously, Megan taught computer science, ran a science internship program, and coached robotics. When not teaching, Megan is also a field biologist, specializing in whales. She has spent a tremendous amount of time in the company of whales, penguins, and other marine creatures and is really looking forward to spending time with students learning about the ecology of rivers. While she might miss the smell of whale breath while in Colorado, she is looking forward to biking, hiking, spending time in and on the rivers, and getting to know the various critters and plants of the Roaring Fork Valley.
